Sad because he is someone's Father and someone's son but he led a pretty screwed up life. He was indeed an icon and music legend and that brilliance will be missed.

A very sad day. A nice person who was mis-treated & mis-understood. Every musical performer alive today was influenced by Michael. He inspired so many. An amazing talent, an amazing performer and we have truly lost a one of a kind peson who is absolutly 'The King of Pop'!. We all hope and pray that the children are well taken care of and the media be kinder to his memory then they did when he was alive. May Michael rest in peace and may you fly high with others and your memory be cherished. You will be truly missed.

Waiting to hear an autopsy, not understanding how a skinny 50 year old can go into cardiac arrest unless it was drug or prescription related like Heath Ledger and Anna Nicole Smith. I hope Obama puts the screws to medical doctors in america passing out dangerous pharmaceuticals like candy to make more money, shame on the medical doctors, big pharma and the lobbyists.

Hopefully with this year of many celebrity prescription med deaths and the good work of Dr. Drew Pinsky and his show Celebrity Rehab there will be some changes in the medical industry for legal drug pushers we call doctors and pharmaceutical companies.

Yes I think Tom Cruise is zany with the whole Scientology bit, but I also think he is wise in saying nobody should be on prescription medicine for depression.

So tragic and really so young... He was an amazing artist and inspired so many singers and dancers with his work.

WOW! He was an icon and although he had his faults I don't think anyone should judge him. He was a genius in the music industry and I have his children and family in my thoughts and prayers.

From baby boomers up to the elderly, from the 60's flower generation down to the newest generation, like him personally or not, Michael Jackson has made an impact on all of our lives musically. Whether an opera fan or a Dead-head, we all grew up hearing Jackson Five and Michael Jackson's songs for an entire generation and have their entire repertoire permanently ingrained into our psyches. The Jackson legacy grew from a fascinated awe and admiration for the talents of one so young and flawless to respect for the perfectionism, inventiveness, and creative genious of a visionary outperforming and amazing us all with his rhythm and unequalled talent.
Personal quirks and curiousities aside, one can only let one's imagination run wild with the how's and the why's of what caused and shaped Michael's inter-personal associations, attitudes, demons, eccentricities, and seclusion. What remains and will always live on is what he gave us all as an innocent child prodigy, a selfless iconic entertainer and a larger-than-life talented musical legend. Michael, thank you for all you've done for the world and for all the music I'll continue to enjoy and respect. You're a big part of all that has molded me and you will be missed, but your music will always be cherished.

Everyone should play "Gone Too Soon" in unison on their stereo.
